Richard Pacholke, 60

Richard Douglas Pacholke, 60, of Hanford, California, passed away on Saturday, Oct.13, 2012 at the Adventist Health Medical Center in Hanford, after a long valiant struggle with COPD.

A memorial service, was held in Hanford on Monday, Oct. 22 at 4 p.m.

Richard was born Feb.17, 1952 in Council Bluffs to [Rev.] Raymond W. and Jean [Francis Nugent] Pacholke. In 1962, the family moved to North English, where Richard graduated from English Valleys High School in 1970.

He attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa for one year and then transferred to Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. The following year, he enlisted in the Navy. He served his country proudly aboard various aircraft carriers until he retired after 20 years of service.

After leaving the Navy, he worked at various restaurants; as a general manager until his health no longer allowed him to work.

Richard married Hilda Banegas on Nov. 7, 1994. Together, they had two children, Amy Jean and Raymond Douglas. They joined older sisters Monica Ann and Jennifer Lynn.

Those left behind to cherish Richard's memory are his wife; Hilda; his daughter Amy Pacholke and
her daughter Melodie, and his son Ray Pacholke, all of Hanford; his daughter Monica Pacholke and her sons Austin, Mickey and Christian of Yuma, AZ; his daughter Jennifer Cobos and her chil-
dren Sabrina, Athena and Devina Cobos and Fransciso, Jocelyn and Diego Hurtado of Phoenix, AZ; his brother David (Jan) Pacholke of Dubuque; his sister Marsha (Harold) Koughn of Gresham, NE; and his sister Raejean (Jerry) Furne of Lawton, IA along with nephews and nieces.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
