Services for Emma Heller, 97, were held May 24

Emma Heller, 97, rural Ladora.died
Saturday evening, May 20, 1989, at the
Marengo Memorial Hospital Extended
Care Unit where she had been a resident
since March 30, 1988.

Funeral services were held at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday, May 24, at Hoover-
Valentine Funeral Home, Marengo, the
Rev. Robert Barrick, United Methodist
Church, Ladora, officiating.

Organist Audrey (Mrs. Jake) Valen-
tine accompanied Rick Gates, Marengo,
as he sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and
"In the Garden."

Burial was in the Koszta Cemetery.

Pallbearers were all grandsons, Steve
Heller, Marengo; Dion Heller, San
Diego, Calif.; Russell Heller, Bemidji,
Minn.; Richard Heller, Casper, Wyo.;
Tom Morton, Guernsey, and Jim Mor-
ton, Victor.

Born Oct. 24. 1891 at rural Marengo,
Emma Dusil Heller was the daughter of
John and Mary Trojovsky Dusil. She
attended rural Marengo schools.

Her marriage to Lloyd Heller took
place Sept. 2, 1914 in Iowa County.

They made their home on a farm near
Ladora. Mrs. Heller, who was a home-
maker, was a member of the American
Legion Auxiliary at Ladora and of the
Koszta United Methodist Church.

She is survived by five sons, Ernest,
Ladora; Elvin, Bemidji, Minn.; Wesley
and George, Marengo; Frank, Lostine,
Ore.; one daughter, Alice (Mrs. Elbert)
Morton, Guernsey; 16 grandchildren and
19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband,
Dec. 6. 1967, her parents, one son Lloyd Jr.,
one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, and seven
brothers and sisters.
