Bonnie Wilkerson, 81

Bonnie L. Wilkerson, 81, North English, died peacefully at the English Valleys Care Center, North English, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Bonnie Lou Wilkerson was born Sept. 20, 1931, in Holland, Mich., the daughter of Dick and Mildred Wiersema.

She married Norman (Tib) Wilkerson, North English, Sept. 17, 1949, in Clinton. She worked as a cook and housekeeper at the University of Iowa for 20 years.

She was a member of the Christian Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Rebecca’s and was a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader for many years.

Wilkerson is survived by her husband, Norman, North English; five children, Kristi and Tom Klein, North English; Suellen and David Seaba, Montezuma; Greg and Elvia Wilkerson, San Antonio, Texas; Doreen Ducey, Charleston, S.C., and Daina and Laura Wilkerson, New Braunfels, Texas; nine grandchildren, Nicala (Seaba) Rubino, Devina Ducey, Tracee Wilkerson, Damien Wilkerson, Andrea (Seaba) Smith, Jessica Higby, Courtney DeMoss, Sheridan Wilkerson and Karsen Wilkerson, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Beverly Klifman and Patrica Larson, and one brother, Bruce Wiersema.
