Doloris Meade, 85

Funeral Mass for Doloris A. Meade, 85, Williamsburg, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg. She died Thursday evening, Oct. 25, 2012, at Highland Ridge Care Center, Williamsburg.

The Rev. Joseph Roost officiated at the service.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamsburg.

A memorial fund has been established.

Doloris Ann Meade was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Manchester, the daughter of Harry L. and Dorothy Condon Fee. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Cedar Rapids, in 1946.

She married William Clement Meade Feb. 18, 1950, at Immaculate Conception Church, Cedar Rapids. The couple farmed in the Holbrook area for five years and near Parnell for 14 years before moving to Williamsburg.

She was employed as a secretary at Farm Bureau for many years.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Williamsburg; the Altar and Rosary Society, the National Order of Catholic Foresters and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed bowling, gardening and playing cards with her friends. She was a loyal Hawkeye fan and the couple held season tickets for many years. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s functions and sporting events.

Meade is survived by her husband, William; one son, Thomas William and Sandra Meade, DeWitt; two daughters, Constance Marie and H. Kurt Frohling, Raymore, Mo., and Jean Ann and Kevin Wardenburg, Williamsburg; six grandchildren, Andrew and Krista Rose Frohling, Nicole and Travis Eastman, Kyle Meade, John Wardenburg, Joshua Wardenburg and Rachel Meade, and one sister-in-law, Ardys Fee, Mansfield, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Harry Fee Jr., and Robert Fee, and a sister, Elizabeth Plotz.
