Rose DeMeulenaere, 72

Mass of Christian burial for Rose Mary DeMeulenaere, 72, Racine, Wis., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, Racine. She died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at her home with her husband by her side.

Private interment will be held.

Memorials may be made to All Saints Foundation for a respiratory scholarship in her honor.

Rose Mary DeMeulenaere was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Augustine and Myrtle [Smith] O’Donnell. She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1958. After high school, she attended Marquette University.

She married Edward DeMeulenaere at St. Mary’s Church, Williamsburg. She was employed at Case Company, Omaha, Neb., while her husband completed his hospital administration residency. Her motto for life was “Faith, family and friends.” She lived out her faith by giving time to support meals for the poor, Healthcare Network, Veritas and volunteering her time at numerous organizations, including YWCA, Junior League of Racine, Better Breathers and St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary.

The family expresses their gratitude to Dr.Joshua Bloom and her caregivers.

DeMeulenaere is survived by her husband, Ed; her children, Conna and Tom Tigges, Carmel, Ind.; Chris and Ann DeMeulenaere, Brookfield; Cynde and John Summers, Franksville; 11 grandchildren she thoroughly enjoyed, Tyler, Spencer, Alexandra, Maxwell, Keegan and Victoria Tigges, Rachael, Augustine and Riley DeMeulenaere, Lauren and Lisel Summers; her sisters, Patricia and John Stirk, Fairfax, Va.; Rita and Richard Schaefer, Pewaukee; Terry and Ted Ingrassia, Rockford, Ill.; Kate and John Riess, Castle Pines, Colo., and Josephine and Custer Livermore, Chicago, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Margie O’Donnell, Houston, Texas; Mary Sindelar, Marion; Joan Wahl, Jefferson, and Betty DeBrower, Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Bob DeMeulenaere, Victor, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Franny.
