Rachel Stotelmyre, 95

Private graveside family services for Rachel J. Stotelmyre, 95, Marengo, formerly of Belle Plaine, were held Friday, June 15, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. She died June 12, 2012, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, from complications of age.

The Rev. Dianne Buswell officiated at the service.

Pallbearers were Ronald Shaver, Travis Healey, Larry Buswell, Kevin Healey, Rob Healey and Thad Hagen.

Music was provided by vocalist Jolene Babcock.
Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, was in charge of arrangements.

Rachel J. Stotelmyre was born Jan. 19, 1919, at Marengo, the daughter of Fred and Nina Lacher Buswell. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1936.

She married Harold Stotelmyre Nov. 12, 1938, at Unionville, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1962. She moved to Belle Plaine with her husband in 1939 and worked as a sales clerk at Clear’s Store from 1939 to 1981 when the store closed. She moved back to Marengo in the 1980s.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Connie Healey and Becky and Gary Hagen, all Marengo; Kevin and Carol Healey, Victor; Linda and Dennis Walter, Farmington, Minn.; Lois Shaver and Debra and Timothy Seckar, all Newton; James and Lou Buswell, Peyton, Colo.; Larry and Dianne Buswell, South Amana; Donald and Patricia Buswell, Iowa City, and Robyn and Kevin Wieland, North Liberty; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and wife Cleo, and Frederick Buswell; sisters, Lois Healey and husband Melvin, and three in infancy; nephew, Melvin Healey; niece Paula Buswell; great-niece Terri Rogers; and great-nephews, Michael Walter and Louis Rocko Michael Buswell.
