Celebration of life memorial services for Lynn Aldrich, 70, North English, were held at 12 p.m. Saturday, June 9, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, North English. He died June 4, 2012, at his home following a long illness.

The Rev. Kirk Statler officiated at the service.
Burial will be at a later date at the North English Cemetery.

Lynn Aldrich was born July 16, 1941, in North English, the son of Marvin E. (Pete) and Luella May McArtor Aldrich. He grew up in North English and graduated from English Valleys High School, North English.

He married Sondra Browning in Cedar Rapids in 1962.

He was a member of the North English Christian Church. He worked at Amana Refrigeration for 35 years, retiring in 1999. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, trips to Canada, hunting, fishing and collecting fishing lures.

Aldrich is survived by his wife, Sondra, North English; two sons and their wives, Brad and Cindy Aldrich, Cedar Rapids, and Brian and Jean Aldrich, Shellsburg; four grandchildren, Alex and Taylor, Dakoda, Larkyn and Leyton; two great-granddaughters, Addison and Quinn; one sister, Myrna Heitshusen, Williamsburg, and two brothers, Darrell Aldrich and wife Lisette, Fond du Lac, Wis., and Gary Aldrich, Iowa City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Patty K. Aldrich, and a brother-in-law, Ralph Heitshusen.
