Graveside services for Ethel Wiebold, 77, Westminster, Colo., formerly of Iowa County, were held at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at Genoa Bluffs Cemetery, Iowa County.

She passed away peacefully Feb. 2, 2011, with her husband by her side.

Donations in her name may be made to Collier Hospice at Lutheran Center (ELH at CHC, 3210 Lutheran Parkway, Wheat Ridge, Colo. 80033.

Ethel Wiebold was born July 11, 1933, in Iowa County, the daughter of Hugh Thomas and Eva Ochs. She attended Victor High School and went on to work as a key punch operator for the next 10 years.

In 1960 she moved to Colorado and worked as a reservations clerk for United Airlines for 27 years until she retired. She loved to travel and was thankful for the opportunities the airline company provided her. She was able to take many great trips, sometimes with friends, to see family and explore what the world had to offer her.

She married Russell John Wiebold Dec. 30, 1994, at the Arvada United Methodist Church.

Wiebold is survived by her husband; her stepchildren, Ross William and Dr. Laurie Starr, many nieces and nephews and a lot of dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
