Celebration of life service for Matthew W. Caster, 31, Blairstown, formerly of North English, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, North English. He died as the result of an auto accident south of Marengo early Sunday morning, April 10, 2011.

The Rev. Edwin Jordan and the Rev. Mel Kendall will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, rural Martinsburg.

A general memorial fund has been established.

Matthew William Caster was born Oct. 28, 1979, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Samuel and Jane Kendall Caster. He was baptized at the Pleasant Grove Grace Brethren Church. He grew up in the North English community and graduated from English Valleys High School in 1998. He worked at Holden Foundation Seeds and Williamsburg Manufacturing before moving to Blairstown where he was a lead plant operator at Xethenol, a bio-fuel plant, the last 11 years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and being outdoors with his dog Jack. He loved playing video games with his brother, making gourmet meals and enjoying his exotic animals and fish.

Caster is survived by his parents, Samuel and Jane Caster, rural North English; five brothers and sisters and their spouses, Mark Caster and wife Lindsey Shriver, Marengo; Luke and Jena Caster, Hendersonville, Tenn.; Melissa and Will Luers, Keota; Jessica Caster, North English, and John Caster, Albia; six nieces and nephews, and his girlfriend, Jami Kimm, Blairstown.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Betty Kendall and Richard and Carolyn Caster.
