Funeral services for Darlene M. Wagner, 91, Cedar Rapids, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories.

She died Sept. 14, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a short illness.

The Rev. William Harnish officiated at the service.

Burial was in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established.

Darlene M. Wagner was born Aug. 18, 1919, near White Lake, S.D., the daughter of Edward and Lena Nowotny. She moved to Victor with her parents when she was three years old. She started school at Victor High School when she was four, graduating with the class of 1936. She attended college in Cedar Rapids and then worked as a private secretary for several individuals. She then worked for Collins Radio for 30 years.

She married Kenneth Wagner Feb. 15, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1998.

The couple loved to travel all throughout Europe and most of the United States. She will be greatly missed.

Wagner is survived by one sister, Glorene Klever, Marengo; nieces, Diane Benoit, Gloria Leazer, Gayle McCulley and Glenda Campbell; nephews, Denny Nowotny, Randy Nowotny and Marty Nowotny, as well as many close friends and neighbors.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Melvin.
