Funeral services for Kathryn A. Johnson, 94, La Porte City, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, at La Porte City Funeral Service. She died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

Burial was in the West View Cemetery.

Kathryn A. Johnson was born Dec. 20, 1915, in White Pigeon, the daughter of Pete and Della Ginther Richardson.

She married Roy E. Johnson Jan. 11, 1934, in Vinton. He died Nov. 4, 1998.

She worked as a caretaker for the William’s Nursing Home and was a member of the La Porte City V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Johnson is survived by two sons, Roy L. Johnson and wife Ima Jean, Vinton, and Neile Johnson, La Porte City; one daughter and her husband, Mona Rae and Jerry Lunning Sr., Forest City; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, one half-brother and four half-sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Burnetta Burns; one son, Michael J. Johnson; one grandson; two brothers; four sisters; one half-brother and two half-sisters.
