Funeral services for Beata M. Sandersfeld, 94, South Amana, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy. She died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, following an extended illness.

Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Lutheran Interparish School, Williamsburg.

Beata Marie Marita Sandersfeld was born Aug. 26, 1916, in Seward, Neb., the daughter of Walter William Weiss and Marie Neitzel Weiss. She was raised in Lincoln Township.

She married Everett August Sandersfeld Oct. 16, 1941, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincoln Township. The couple resided in South Amana. She was a wife, mother and homemaker.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy; past treasurer of the E.S.R., and secretary-treasurer for 17 years of the Aid Association for Lutherans local chapter.

She enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

Sandersfeld is survived by one son, Tom Sandersfeld, Williamsburg; one daughter, Kim Knight, Tempe, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Heitshusen, Luzerne, and Ramona Huedepohl, Millersburg, and one brother, Eldon Weiss, Ladora.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and one brother, Leroy Weiss.
