Ronald E. Ritchie, 61, Cedar Rapids, formerly of North English and Marengo, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Ronald Eugene Ritchie was born March 11, 1949, in Marengo, the son of Charles and Frances Roggentien Ritchie. He graduated from English Valleys High School, North English, in 1967.

He was employed by L.L. Pelling for several years, then worked for Nelson Manufacturing, Cedar Rapids, for 12 years as a metal shearer.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time.

Ritchie is survived by two sons and their wives, Curt and Kim Ritchie, Williamsburg, and Marshall and Mandy Ritchie, Ankeny; one daughter and her husband, Tonya and Barry Kiddy, Adamsville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; his mother, Frances “Toot” Ritchie, Marengo, and two brothers, Gary and wife Nancy, South English, and David, Marengo.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, James.

Graveside memorial services for Ronald E. “Tuck” Ritchie, 61, Cedar Rapids, formerly of North English and Marengo, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at the Marengo Cemetery. He died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010.

The Rev. James Parks will officiate at the service.

A memorial fund has been established.
