Mass of the Resurrection for Mary E. “Maribeth” DeNeve, 69, Victor, was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Victor. She died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Marengo Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. Brian Shepley officiated at the service. Organist was Kathy Lynch and vocalist was Anna Upah.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Victor.

Casket bearers were Roger Campbell, Scott Crow, Jeff Gryp, John Gryp, Randy Miller and Rob Nowotny. Honorary casket bearers were Brenda Crow, Denise Crow, Bev DeNeve, Jean Gryp, Mary Jo Patten, Joan Schafbuch, Dawn Thys and Steph Thys.

A memorial fund has been established.

Smith Funeral Home, Victor, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Elizabeth “Maribeth” DeNeve was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Francis and Mary Rowland Crow. She was raised in Victor and graduated from St. John’s Catholic School. She also received a business degree from AIB, Des Moines. Following her education, she worked as a bookkeeper for the Cedar Rapids Pump and Sully Company.

She married Richard DeNeve March 3, 1962, at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Victor. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm in the Victor area. In addition to being a homemaker, she was director of religious education at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and cooked at the Quarter Post Restaurant near Victor.

She was a long-time member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and she enjoyed maintaining her home and yard, collecting hats, shopping at Von Maur and spending time with her family.

DeNeve is survived by her husband; one daughter, Chris DeNeve, Victor; three sons and their wives, David and Crystal DeNeve, Grinnell; Rick and Kelly DeNeve, Cedar Rapids, and Lynn and Jennifer DeNeve, Victor; 10 grandchildren and three brothers and their wives, Joe Crow and Thomas and Denise Crow, all Victor, and Steve and Brenda Crow, Brooklyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
