Celebration of life services for Margaret Mary Baack, 90, Oxford, were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. She died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.

The Rev. Richard Meyer officiated at the service. Organist was Darla Lehmkuhl.

Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Casket bearers were Paul Hiam, David Krebs, Jim Baack, Todd Walter, John Gahring and Doug Teggatz.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Lutheran Interparish School.

Margaret Mary Baack was born Dec. 12, 1920, near Marengo, the daughter of Fritz and Armina (Schmutz) Maeder. She attended rural school.
She married Walter William Henry Baack Sept. 15, 1946, in Luzerne. She was a long time resident of Iowa County and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamsburg.

Baack is survived by her husband, Walter Baack; one daughter and her husband, RoxAnn and Robert Hiam, Castle Rock, Colo.; one sister, Helen Nidey, Williamsburg; two grandchildren, Paul Hiam and Carissa Hiam; one sister-in-law, Leona Baack, Marengo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant grandchild; one sister, Martha Maeder, and one brother, Sgt. Albert Maeder.
