Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa, 12 Aug 1887, p3.

DIED;--August 9th, 1887, Elvin Ross, infant son of J.A. and E Cashman, aged 3 months and 14 days.

We call it death, but the babe has only been transplanted to a world of elysian beauty and angelic purity. Whatever doubts we may have as to that future of persons who have come to the age of maturity; there is no question but that the children are all embraced in the atonement, and are in a saved condition until they put themselves out by actual transgressions. The home is lonely, the parents are in sorrow, but above the blue vault, angels meet and welcome the cherub as on wings of light it passes into the paradise of eternal bliss.

We strive but all our efforts fail,
To trace that upward flight;
No eye can pierce within the veil,
Which hides the world of light,
Yet though we see them not--we know,
Children are supremely blest;
Free from sin and care and woe,
And with their Saviour rest,
