Williamsburgh Journal, Williamsburgh (Iowa Co.), Iowa 5 Aug 1887, p2.

In Memoriam.
"We too must come to the riverside,
One by one,
We are nearing its waters each eventide,
Yes, one by one,
We can hear the noise and the dashing stream
Oft now and again, thro' our lifes's deep dream.
O, thou did'st pass through the deepest midnight,
Now guide us, and send us the staff and light,
Gathering home! gathering home!
Fording the river one by one!

DIED;--July 29th. 1887, EDITH, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Rees, aged about 4 months.

The funeral was held from the family residence, Saturday at 4 p,m. Services were conducted by Revs. Davis and Hughes.

There is always something unusually sad in the death of a sweet babe, and who can portray the feelings of the loving parents? and how feeble are words in such hours of cruel separation. When fond hearts are bleeding and one's being seems divided, between earth and heaven, there is but one consolation, but one hope only that springs eternal in all christainized humanity, that there will be a joyous meeting, beyond the possibility of parting. Bye and bye we shall meet our loved ones on the "Golden shore," and bask in eternal fruition of joy and happiness. The sympathy of all is extended to this family in this sad bereavement.
