_____The news of the death of Frank Slager was received by his many friends here Saturday with deep regret. Death occurred at the Millersburg hospital.
Frank Slager was born in Austria in 1866 and when a lad of but three years his parents, Mrs. And Mrs. Anton Slager, came to America. They settled on a farm in West Pilot and this continued to be their home until their death. The deceased with his brother, George, purchased the old home and he continued to reside there until his death.
The deceased never married, and leaves to mourn his passing three brothers, Will, George and John and three sisters, Mrs. J.C. Klever, Mrs. Fred Klever and Miss Mary Slager who kept house for the deceased.
The funeral services were held at the Ohio Church of Ladora Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Spurlock, pastor of the church delivered the funeral oration. Burial was in the Ohio cemetery.
The deceased was well known in this community and was noted far and wide for his honest and square dealings. He followed the Golden Rule through his life and his passing makes a void in the old home community that can never be filled. His industrious nature and good judgment made him one of the outstanding figures of his neighborhood, and his passing will be keenly felt by all who knew him.
