MARY FANT
_____
Died at the Home of Her Parents Saturday Morning at 3 O’clock
_____

May 17, 1904 there was born to Mr. and Mrs. Axel Fant, living east of Williamsburg a daughter whom they named Mary. She lived in that neighborhood until about three years of age when the family removed to the farm southwest of Williamsburg, where she grew to young womanhood, obtaining her education in the country school in that neighborhood.

Saturday morning about 3 o’clock the family was aroused by a queer action, the doctor was summoned, but before medical aid could reach her she had passed to the Great Beyond, death being attributed to heart trouble.

The deceased retired the night before without complaining of being ill. A younger sister sleeping with her was awakened about three o’clock in the morning by the heavy breathing of the deceased. The parents were up and Mr. Fant was getting ready to haul some hogs to town. They were immediately summoned to her bedside. Seeing something was the matter they immediately notified the doctor. But Mary has passed to that bourne from which no traveler returns, before aid arrived.

She was a young lady who numbered her friends by all who knew her, always of a cheerful disposition, she was the favorite of all social gatherings, and will be greatly missed by all. Besides the parents she is survived by four sisters and three brothers: Anna, Carrie, Ruth, Lavena, Carl, Adolph and Johnny.

The large number of beautiful floral offerings and the large number who attended the funeral showed the high esteem in which the young lady was held.

The funeral services were held Monday at the Pilot Grove church. Rev. Cole of Millersburg officiating. Burial was in the Pilot Grove cemetery.
