In Memoriam.

Last Tuesday, Nov. 27, the good people of Holbrook and vicinity were called upon to mourn the loss and honor the remains of Mrs. Margaret Morrin, who departed this life at the advanced age of 69 years; fortified with the rites of the church she loved so well. The deceased has been a resident of Iowa county for nearly twenty years and was known and admired by all for her genial manner, genuine affability, unlimited generosity and true christian charity. Margaret Morrin was an exception among women; one of the purest and brightest gems of the green old island of Erin, she shed a halo of love and sunshine over all that crossed her path; truly indeed of her it might be said none knew her but to love her, none named her but to praise. Born and raised in the Catholic church, she always hearkened unto Her teachings and obeyed Her commands. May her many kind and generous acts plead before the Throne of God, is the earnest prayer of the writer. Her illness was long and severe, her suffering was extreme, but she bore it with that fortitude of the faithful christian who is willing to take up her cross and follow Christ. And while we deeply sympathize with those who were bound to our departed friend by the nearest and dearest ties, we share with them the hope of a reunion in that better world, where there is no parting, and bliss ineffable forbids a tear. The funeral was large and respectable, a fitting tribute to a most worthy woman. A solemn mass of requiem was sung, Rev. Father Gaffney, of Windham, celebrant; after which all that was mortal of Mrs. Margaret Morrin was laid to rest beneath the shadow of the cross of St. Michael's church. May her soul rest in peace.
