Services for Alice Mumm, 83, Were Monday

Services for Alice (Mrs. Arthur) Mumm, 83, Williamsburg, were held Monday, May 26, at 2pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, the Rev. Phill E. Andreasen officiating.

Mrs. Mumm died Saturday May 24, 1986, at St. Lukes‘s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of an apparent heart attack. She had been hospitalized since Friday, May 16.

Organist for the service was Connie (Mrs. Dennis) Huedepohl, Williamsburg. Hymns sung by the congregation were “How Great Thou Art,” “Nearer My God to Thee” and “I know that My Redeemer Lives.”

Caring for the flowers were nephews and nieces, the Russell E. Collingwoods, Williamsburg and the Ivan Edwards, North English. Ushers were […] both of Williamsburg. Casket bearers were grandsons, Leslie Mumm, Weatherford, Okla.; Steve Mumm, Victor; Michael Bodkins, Des Moines; Wayne Petersen, Knoxville; Larry Martinson, Cedar Rapids and Gary Boesenberg, Solon.

Alice Mumm was born June 23, 1902 at rural Williamsburg, the daughter of Daniel and Cynthia Wanamaker Collingwood. She was baptized at Pilot Grove Methodist Church, Pilot Township, as an infant.

The family moved into Williamsburg when she was a small child and she attended the Williamsburg elementary and high school.

She was a member of the XYZ (Xtra Years of Zest) Club for those over 60. She enjoyed doing things for her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and church and visiting with her friends.

Surviving are three daughters, Marcella (Mrs. Irvin) Martinson and Irene (Mrs. Henry) Boesenberg, both of Cedar Rapids, and Florence (Mrs. William) Cronbaugh, Knoxville; also 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur, who died May 18, 1969; three brothers, Roy, Harry and James Collingwood; sister, Carro (Mrs. Charles) Edwards; and a great-grandson, Ian Talmage […]
