Services for Elmer H. Imhoff, 68, Center Point, a brother of Antone Imhoff, Marengo, were held at 1:30pm Monday, July 8, at the United Methodist Church, Center Point. The Rev. Alfred Clark officiating.
Imhoff died July 5, 1985 at Mercy Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness.
Organist Laurel Lea Lewis accompanied vocalist Jeanette Elgin. Both are of Center Point.
Burial was in the Dunkard Cemetery, Midway, with pallbearers don Whitenock, Bob Beitz, Harold Annis, Jerry Cameron, Wesley Fagle and Marv MacArthur, all of Center Point.
Elmer H. Imhoff was born March 27, 1917 at Williamsburg, the son of Herman and Augusta F. Brown Imhoff. He attended a Williamsburg area rural school.
On April 21, 1936 he married Ruth M. Fant at Marengo. He farmed for a time before being employed by the Linn County road department for 15 years. He retired in 1981.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Center Point.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, two daughters, Shirley (Mrs. Richard) Boyles, Carroll, and Linda (Mrs. Larry) Harak, Marion; one son Wayne Imhoff of Center Point; six grandchildren, […] great-grandchildren, one brother, Antone Imhoff, Marengo and an uncle Orien Imhoff, Williamsburg as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
