Burial At Millersburg, Wife And Four Children Among His Survivors
Funeral services for Charles Hayes McDonald were held at St. Bernard's church in Millersburg, Thursday morning, August 21, with Rev. P. V. Duggan as celebrant of the requiem mass. St. Bernard's choir chanted the responses. Interment was in St. Bernard's cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Joe O'Rourke, Francis O'Rourke, Cyril Kelly, James Walsh, Clair Kelly and Hugh O'Rourke.
Mr. McDonald had suffered a long illness and passed away at his home at 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, August 19th, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 27 days.
The deceased, a son of Archibald and Laura McDonald, was born Sept. 25, 1877, in Livingston county, Missouri. He was married to Theresia Kelly on Sept. 25, 1907, at St. Bernard's church in Millersburg. His lifetime was spent in farming. He was a member of the Catholic church.
Among those who mourn his passing are his wife, four children, Mrs. Thomas Lillis, Jr., and Mrs. Gerald Hradek of Williamsburg; Wade McDonald of North English and Mrs. Robert Dane of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Joel Freeman of Laredo, Mo., and Mrs. Nellie Norvall of Chula, Mo., and three grandchildren. One daughter, Lorene (?) McDonald, preceded him in death
