Funeral services for Lois Shine, 85, Victor, were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at New Covenant United Methodist Church, Victor. She died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at Brooklyn Estates.

The Rev. Jim Davis officiated at the service. Organist was Marna Mohr and vocalist was Kato Wauters. Burial was in Victor Memorial Cemetery. Casket bearers were Aaron and Blaine Wauters, Christopher Shine, Chad Williams, Robert Gasper, Tim Heishman, Alan Mohr and Nick Krapfl. Honorary casket bearers were Dakota and Kayden Heishman, Leighton and William Wauters, Easton and Tyson Mohr, Hayden Gasper and Carson Williams. Flower bearers were Angela Heishman, Carrie Williams, Sara Mohr, Carrie Ann Krapfl and Amanda and Catherine Wauters.

A memorial fund has been established. Smith Funeral Home, Victor, was in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.smithfh.com.

Lois Shine was born Oct. 24, 1924, near Deep River, the daughter of George and Martha “Jenny” McWilliams. She was raised in the Deep River area and graduated from Deep River High School.

She married Wilbur G. Shine on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942, in Memphis, Mo. The couple operated a grain and livestock farm south of Victor until 1976, when they moved to Victor. She worked in the food service of the HLV School District for many years.

She was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church, Victor; the Ruth Circle of the church and 4-H. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and was a beautiful seamstress. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Shine is survived by one son and his wife, Dennis and Patty Shine, rural Victor; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Virginia Romberg, and one brother-in-law, Mel Uridel.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Barbara Jo Johnson; her parents and one brother, Keith Yeo.
