Johnette Lou Hudson, 02 Aug 1937 – 02 Aug 2010

Celebration of life services for Johnette L. Hudson, 73, Keswick, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service, North English. She died Monday, Aug. 2, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Sigourney after a courageous fight with cancer.

The Rev. Kirk Statler officiated at the service.
Burial was in the North English Cemetery.

Johnette Lou Hudson was born Aug. 2, 1937, in North English, the daughter of Wilbur S. and Neva R. Kolosik Cray Moore. She was raised in the North English and Keswick areas and attended school in North English.

She married Thomas Delbert Hudson Oct. 20, 1954, in Washington. They lived in the Wellman, Kalona and Keswick communities. She worked in the home as a homemaker and a great mom.

She was a member of the North English Christian Church. She enjoyed doing puzzles, ceramics, drawing, quilting and playing bingo.

Hudson is survived by 11 children and their spouses, Vickey Hudson, Sigourney; Cindy and Don White, Sigourney; Delbert and Colleen Hudson, North Carolina; Rick and Patty Hudson, Keswick; Rebecca and William Burkenbine, Grinnell; Thomas and Doreen Hudson, Thornburg; Terry and Kimberly Hudson, New Sharon; Kelly and Gary Hudson, Brighton; John and Pebbles Hudson, Webster; Bruce and Jennifer Hudson, Winfield;, and Matthew and Marcia Hudson, Webster; 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; an infant daughter, Nancy Hudson; an infant grandchild, Trinity Hudson, and one sister, Dorothy Blount.
