Treva Charlene Grimm

Graveside services for Treva C. Grimm, 94, North English, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at the North English Cemetery. She died May 25, 2010, at the English Valley Care Center, North English, where she had been a resident since October 2008.

Memorials may be made to the children’s program at the North English Library.

Treva Charlene Grimm was born April 6, 1916, near North English, the daughter of Charles Perry and Oral Markwell Andes. She graduated from Webster Consolidated High School in 1934.

She married Lloyd Byron Grimm Oct. 22, 1934, at Unionville, Mo. Together, they farmed in the North English and Millersburg area until moving to North English in 1971.

She was a homemaker and did cashier work at various retail establishments in Iowa County until the mid-1990s. She was an accomplished seamstress and was especially skilled in creating beautiful clothing, quilts and wall hangings.

Grimm is survived by two sons, Jimmie Lloyd Grimm and wife Barbara, Bloomington, Ill., and Charles Richard “Dick” Grimm, Edmonds, Wash.; four grandsons, David Grimm and Daniel Grimm, Augusta, Kan.; Michael Grimm, Seattle, Wash., and Andrew Grimm, Bloomington, and one granddaughter and her husband, Sarah Grimm and Jeffrey Lopper, Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 25, 1998; her parents; one son, Larry Lee Grimm, Dec. 18, 2002, and two sisters, Leona Andes Johnson and Dorothy Andes Goodman.
