A memorial gathering for Justin Myers, 48, Sigourney, was held the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27, at 800 South Main St., Sigourney. He died June 20, 2010, at his home.

Justin Lee Myers was born July 18, 1961, in Oskaloosa, the son of Frank and Carol Van Helten Myers. He was raised in the South English area.

He married Kimberly Dugger Dec. 16, 1978, in What Cheer. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Keokuk County Conservation Board and most recently for Sigourney Tractor and Implement.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, road trips, camping and building most anything with his children and grandchildren.

He had a great sense of humor and always tried to make people laugh. Even during his terminal illness, it was important to Justin to teach his children as much as he could. He will be remembered as a great father and caring husband.

Myers is survived by his wife; one son, Geoffrey Myers, and one daughter, Sonya Myers, both Sigourney; six brothers and their wives Rodney Myers, Jerry and Kim Myers and Terry Myers, all Oskaloosa; Bronson and Angela Myers and James and Patricia Myers, all Sigourney, and Curtis and Mary Myers, Knoxville; three sisters and their husbands, Deborah and Randy Dewitt, New Sharon; Marla Myers, Oskaloosa, and Stacy Myers and husband Matt Sabin, Sigourney, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Merrill and Cleo Myers, and his father.
