Williamsburg funeral rites were Monday afternoon, Oct 15, in the Jones Funeral home for Mrs. Fred Klever. The Rev. John A. Robinson was in charge of the service with Mrs. George Meyer and Viola Dubisher providing the music.

Casket carriers were Truman Lortz, Arnold Walter, William Poulson, Mervin Dellamuth, Merlin Stahl and Ralph Lortz, Jr. Interment was in Pilot Grove cemetery.

After several years of failing health and 6 ˝ month bedfast, Anna Slager Klever died Friday, Oct. 12, 1962, at 6 pm. On Apr. 3, she entered the Marengo Memorial hospital in Marengo where she remained a patient until about one month ago. She then became a resident of the Yearian nursing home, where she died.

The daughter of Anthony and Mary Bren Slager, she was born Feb. 17, 1882, in Lincoln Township. Her early life was spent in Iowa County where she attended rural schools.

She was married to Fred Klever, in her parents’ home Feb. 17, 1903. Mr. Klever survives. The Klevers moved from a farm west of town into Williamsburg in 1945.

Mrs. Klever was the mother of two daughters, Mrs. Thomas J. (Mable) Jones, of Williamsburg and Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Sperry, Cedar Rapids and of one son, Alfred, also of Williamsburg, all of whom survive. There are three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
