Mrs. Fred Klever, Lifelong Resident Dies at Age of 80

Mrs. Fred Klever, 80, a lifelong resident of Iowa County, died Friday at the Yearian Nursing home. She had been in failing health for several years and had been bedfast the past 6 ˝ months.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Jones funeral home, Rev. John A. Robinson, pastor of St. Paul’s Methodist church, officiating. Pallbearers were Truman Lortz, Arnold Walter, William Poulson, Mervin Dellamuth, Merlin Stahl and Ralph Lortz Jr. Music for the service was provided by Mrs. George Meyer with Miss Viola Dubishar at the organ. Burial was in Pilot Grove cemetery.

Daughter of Anthony and Mary Slager, Anna Slager was born Feb. 17, 1882 in Lincoln Township. After attending rural school, she was married to Fred Klever Feb. 17, 1903. She was a member of the Pilot Grove Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas J. (Mable) Jones of Williamsburg; Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Sperry of Cedar Rapids; one son, Alfred Klever of Williamsburg.
