Lucille McCammant, 68, Dies At Her Home

Services for Lucille B. (Mrs. Alfred) McCammant, 68, rural Williamsburg, were held Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Uhlmann Funeral home, Williamsburg at 10 am. The Rev. Arthur McCrum, Pleasant Grove Brethren church, rural North English, officiated.

Mrs. McCammant died at her home Sunday morning, Nov. 3, 1985. She had been in failing health for the past four or five years.

Organist Carol (Mrs. Robert) Uhlmann accompanied Elaine (Mrs. Francis) Dillin as she sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art.” Both musicians are from Williamsburg.

Burial was in the Pilot Grove cemetery, Pilot Township, Iowa County, rural Williamsburg. Casket bearers were Michael Gent, Robert Durr, James Elwood, James Hradek, Steven Durr and Thomas Slaymaker, all of rural Williamsburg.

Lucille Bertha McCammant was born Aug. 20, 1917 in Pilot Township, rural Williamsburg, the daughter of J. William and Edna Reed Klever. She attended school at Pilot Center, Pilot Township near the family home.

Her marriage to Alfred L. McCammant took place March 6, 1942 in Schuyler County, Lancaster, Mo. They lived on the same farm in Pilot township most of their married life.

She attended the Pilot Grove Methodist church, rural Williamsburg and the Pleasant Grove Brethren church, rural North English.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred and three sons, Lloyd, Gary and Lorren and three granddaughters, Tammy, Jennifer and Christine McCammant, all of rural Williamsburg; three brothers, Walter Klever, Chicago, Ill; Virgil, Marengo and Louis, Williamsburg; and a sister Mary (Mrs. Harry) McCammant, Millersburg.

Her parents; a son Richard, who died in 1951; and two sisters, Frances (Mrs. William) Myers and Edith Klever, preceded her in death.
