Had Retired From Farming in 1951 to Make His Home in Williamsburg

Earl W. Yearian died in the Miller Hospital in Williamsburg, Thursday, December 4, at the age of 62. He had been in failing health for five years and had spent the past month in the hospital. Thursday morning he was taken to his home and was returned to the hospital that evening where he passed away about 10 o’clock.

He was born February 6, 1891, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Andrew and Mary Yearian. On August 27, 1913 he was united in marriage to Albie Dubishar. To this union were born eight children; four sons and four daughters. He was engaged in farming in the vicinity until February 1951 when Mr. and Mrs. Yearian moved to their present home in Williamsburg.

Funeral services were held in the Jones Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Sunday afternoon, December 7, at 2 o’clock with Rev. John A. Nye of St. Paul’s Methodist church in charge. Music was furnished by Merwyn Jones and Burton O. Jones with Mrs. Ralph Matheson at the piano. Pallbearers were John Schuman, Robert A. Elwood, Earl O. Jones, George L. Bean, Robert Beilstein and William Poulson. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife and seven children: Byron Yearian, Marengo, Iowa; Mrs. Byron Jones, Buffalo, Missouri; Mrs. John McGillicuddy, Riverside, Iowa; Mrs. Paul Donohoe and Robert Yearian, Libertyville, Illinois; Staff Sergeant Harlan Yearian of the USAF, stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany; and Mrs. Newman Shannahan, Williamsburg, Iowa. One son, Lloyd Allyn Yearian met accidental death on March 4, 1950. In addition he is survived by nine grandchildren; one brother, Bert Yearian of Williamsburg and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Puckett of Houston, Texas. Another brother, David, preceded him in death.

He will be remembered as a kind husband and father whose chief interest was in his home.
