Mrs. Floyd Klever Dies at Age of 73, Born In Pilot Twp.

Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Mary’s church in Williamsburg for Mrs. Floyd Klever, 73, a lifelong resident of Iowa County, with Rev. Henry B. Geers officiating.

Mrs. Klever died Wednesday Feb. 5, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a short illness. She was born on Oct. 12, 1895, in Pilot Township, daughter of Thomas Elwood and Mary Neal Elwood. She received her education in the rural schools in Pilot Township.

On Nov. 27, 1931, she was married to Floyd Klever. They retired from farming in 1965 and moved to their present home in Williamsburg.

Surviving are her husband; one step son, Lloyd Klever of Marengo; three brothers, Tom Elwood of Marengo, Lambert and Lawrence Elwood of Williamsburg. Four brothers preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Bernard Elwood, James Elwood, Richard Elwood, Michael Elwood, John Van Fossen, and Earl Van Steenhuyse.

Relatives and friends attending the funeral service from a distance were from Beatrice, Neb., Broadview, Ill., Independence, Cedar Rapids, Vinton, Ottumwa, Springville, Swisher and Iowa City and Chicago, Ill.
