Mrs. Hofmaster Dies After Failing Health

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Mary Rachel) Hofmaster, 85, Marengo, were Wednesday, April 2 at 1:30 in First United Methodist church, Marengo. The Rev. Duane O'Tool officiated.

A resident of Rose Haven Nursing home for six weeks, Marengo, Mrs. Hofmaster had been in failing health for past three years.

Born in Pilot township, Iowa County, Dec. 7, 1889, she was the daughter of John C. and Rebecca Lane Klever. She attended the Pilot township rural schools. Dec. 8, 1909 she married her husband in her parents' home.

Her memberships were the Past Noble Grand circle, First United Methodist church, Marengo, and she belonged to Rebekah lodge for 50 years.

Preceding in death were her husband, about 11 years ago, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.

Soloist for services was Mrs. H.R. McCarty. Pallbearers were Karl Punke, Robert Warren, Lester Klein, Ron Klever, Lawrence Lyons and Rex Saunders. Burial was in Marengo cemetery.
