PETER KLEEVER

Died Sunday Evening At His Home In Pilot Township After Long Illness
--------
On Sunday evening at 10 o'clock the cold hand of death was laid on the brow of Peter Kleever of Pilot Township and he was called to the home of his father's.

Mr. Kleever was born in Germany in 1834, where he grew to young manhood. In 1864 he was married to Miss Lenburg, who traveled down life's pathway with him until her death about a year ago.

In 1867 the young couple came to this country settling in Pilot Township which has been their home ever since. Mr. Kleever followed farming all his life, and was more than successful in his line.

Two children were born to this union, one dying in infancy. Mrs. Frank Mumm being the only surviving child.

Mr. Kleever was known far and wide as being a man of high ideals and principles, as a neighbor he was of the best, and as a friend, no one could be more kind.

For the past three years Mr. Kleever has been in ailing health, but during all tht time he bore his affliction with Christian fortitude, being always cheerful.

A large number of relatives and friends who attended the funeral to pay their last respects to him was mute testimony of the high esteem in which he was held.

The funeral services were held Tuesday at the Pilot Grove church, Rev.Cole, pastor of the church officiating.
