Glen F. Lohrer, age 72, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at his home following a sudden illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Thursday, April 2, 2009, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Rev. Norman Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by a son Steve Lohrer and wife Bonnie of Conroy; a daughter, Sherry Thoeness and husband Adam of Keystone; four grandchildren, Michael Lohrer, Madison Lohrer, Brandon Thoeness and Caleb Thoeness; and two sisters, Marlus Grimm of Cedar Rapids, and Vivian Cronbaugh and husband DeWayne of Blairstown. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary in 1998, and a daughter Angela in 1969.

Glen Francis Lohrer was born July 28, 1937 in Iowa County, Iowa, the son of Myron E. and Grace Wolfe Lohrer. He graduated from Norway High School in 1955. Glen served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He married Mary L. Eddy on September 2, 1968 in Marion, Iowa. She died May 26, 1998. Glen was a lifelong farmer.
