Louis Edmund "Louie" Hulseberg, 74, of Marion, died Thursday July 10, 2008 in St. Luke's Hospital following a brief illness. Services:10:30 A.M. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion by the Rev. Greg Williamson. Burial: Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy, Iowa. Visitation will be Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 9:30 A.M.

Survivors include his wife Elaine of 51 years, three sons, Gary L. (Pam) Hulseberg of Marion, Michael L. (Dorene) Hulseberg of Independence, Randy J. (Julie) Hulseberg of Cedar Rapids, grandsons, Trent and Troy of Independence, Benjamin and Kirk of Cedar Rapids, a step grandson, Jacob (Kimberly) Cowger of Marion, a brother, Bill (Millie) Hulseberg; of Williamsburg, a sister-in-law, Nedra Hulseberg of Sabula, brother-in-laws, Stewart Lentz of River Falls, Wisconsin, Don Mc Spadden of Cedar Rapids and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Betty Samuelson, Janet McSpadden, twin sister, Lois Lentz and a brother, Charles (Chuck) Hulseberg.

Louis was born April 12, 1934 in Elburn, Illinois, the son of Bernard and Lucille Davis Hulseberg, and on October 24, 1934 and was baptized in the Congregational Church. Louie was confirmed on December 8, 1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Homestead, Iowa, and married Elaine M. Moennich on September 1, 1956 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, Iowa. After graduation he worked for the Iowa County Road Department. In 1957 he began serving as Administrator of the Jones County Home until moving to Linn County Care Facility on February 8, 1973 serving as Administrator of the facility and continued as an employee of the Linn County Care Facility (Abbe Center for Community Care) until retiring in December of 1995. They moved to Marion in 1999 and were hosts for many of the receptions held at Cedar Memorial Family Center & Library. Louie served as Past President of the Care Facility Administrators Association, and Vice President of Monticello Lions. He served as trustee, elder and chairman of the St. John's Lutheran Church, in Monticello before moving to Linn County.

Memorials may be made to any of the following in lieu of flowers, Camp Courageous, American Heart Association, Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation and St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
