He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Irene in 2007, two brothers, George and Martin and two sisters, Leona in infancy and Marcella Kimm.

Lawrence Francis Frimml was born September 7, 1914 in Washington Township, Iowa County, Iowa. He received his education in the Iowa County schools and married Irene Lillian Ballard on October 10, 1939 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Watkins, IA. The couple farmed in Iowa and Benton Counties until 1955. Lawrence then was employed at Pioneer Seed in Marengo, was self-employed as a trucker, and worked for his brother Jud at Frimml Grain. Lawrence was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Marengo and the Iowa County Farm Bureau.

Lawrence was a social person who enjoyed the “simple joys of life”—chatting with buddies over coffee at the Pronto station, going fishing, and a good card game (bid Euchre). He had an appreciation for the beauty of nature, and good conversation, but nothing gave him more joy than being with his family.
