Funeral services for Eleanor Smith, 89, Port byron, Ill., were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3, at First United Methodist Church, Port Byron. She died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, Ill. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Port Byron. Memorials may be made to the church. Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron, was in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Ida Amelia Smith was born Aug. 27, 1918, in Stockport, the daughter of John and Louie Wymore McMickle. She married Charles J. Smith Dec. 15, 1934 in Marengo. He died March 1, 2000.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Cherry Oak Bunco Club, Port Byron. She was volunteer at Riverdale Schools and enjoyed traveling with friends.

Smith is survied by her daughters and their husbands. Charlene and Chuck Williams, Port Byron; Cindy and Jon Woodburn, Hillsdale, Ill., and Fran Holly, Bensonia, Mich; one son-in-law, Doyle Guinn, Silvis; 17 grandchildren;27 great-grandchildren; five great-greatgrandchildren and two brothers, Edsel McMickle and Elbert Mc Mickle, both Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jane Kay Smith and Patricia Guinn, and one son-in-law, Eldon Reiling.
