George W. Rumple, a former resident of Sumner Twp, died at his home, 1948 B. Avenue, Cedar Rapids, at 5:10 am Wednesday. He was born Oct. 31, 1859 at Fostoria, Ohio and came to Iowa County when a small child and lived in that vicinity until sixteen years ago when he retired and moved to Cedar Rapids. He leaves no immediate relatives excepting many nieces and nephews. One niece, Miss Bessie Rumple, lived with her uncle for many years, revealing a measure of fidelity never surpassed. His wife preceded him in death Dec 13 1923.
Funeral Services were held in the Turner Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Russell Judson officating & the body was taken to Ladora, where further services were held at 1:30 p.m. in he Ohio Church and where the Rev. Mr. Spurlock officiating. Burial was in the Ohio cemetery.
