Obituary:
Mary C. Hutchinson was born September 23, 1866. She was united in marriage to Daniel M. Rumple on January 1, 1884. To this union were born six children, one died in infancy.
Her first husband died in 1894,leaving her a widow with five children.
On 17 Mar 1897, she was married to Frederick Conrad; to them one child was born. This child was accidentally killed July 19th, 1899. The sudden taking away of this child was a severe trial to the mother who was in failing health. Mrs. Conrad was afflicted for more than a year with that disease consumption. She was patient and hopeful, amidst all her suffering she rested with calm confidence on the divine promises for a blessed immortality in the heavenly home.
She had been a member of the Methodist Protestant Church for the last eight years of her life. Her death occurred April 26, 1900 at her home near Genoa Bluff, Iowa County, Iowa.
She leaves a husband, five children, five step-children, her mother, step father, and four brothers to mourn their loss.
Funeral services were held at the Ohio Church, April 28th, conducted by the writer. A large concourse of people were in attendance. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Where, by her kindred dust, she waits the resurrection morn. James M. Pickett
