Besssie Rumple, daughter of John and Clara Rumple, was born on a farm south of Ladora, April 29, 1884, and made her home on the same farm ill 1924. At this time she moved to Cedar Rapids where she made her home until 1948. She came back to the farm and made her home with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs. Frank Begunck, of Marengo.
In February, she moved into Marengo with Mr & Mrs. Frank Begunck and made her home with them, where she had the best of care. Her health had been failing for the past four years, and wo weeks ago she was taken to Watts hospital in Marengo, where she had good care and medical aid and the end came Wednesday morning, April 12, 1955 at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 13 days. She was a member of the Ohio church south of Ladora for many years.
She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Frank Begunck of Marengo, one sister-in-law, two uncles and one aunt, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Her parents, one brother and two nephews preceeded her in death.
Funeral services were held from the McAninch Chapel, Friday, April 15, at 2 p.m. with Rev. J. Alexader in charge.
Two songs were sung by Arthur Lang "beyond the Sunset" and the "unclouded Day" with Mrs. Mina Shaull organist. Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Mabel Fetzer and Mrs. Bernice Augustine.
The casket bearers were Charles Hunzelman, Evard Ollinger, Rene Seye, Henry Begunck, Edwin Begunck and John Rumple.
Burial was in the Ohio Cemetery beside her parents.
