Iowa L. Honn, age 97, of Oxford, died Tuesday evening, September 25, 2007 at Colonial Manor of Amana, Middle Amana, following an extended illness. Funeral Services: 10:30 A.M. Friday, September 28, 2007, Anchored in Faith Gospel Church, 131 W. Main St., Oxford. Rev. John Honn will officiate. Burial will be in the Oxford Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday, September 27, 2007, at the church in Oxford. A memorial fund has been established. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two sons, John and wife Linda of Oxford and William and wife Maria of McAllen, TX; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Artie Sherlock Floerchinger, her husband Faye H. Honn, and an infant daughter, Merry Karol.

Iowa Lucille Floerchinger was born April 1, 1910 in Oxford, Iowa the daughter of William Conger Floerchinger and Artie Sherlock Floerchinger. She graduated from the Oxford High School in 1928 and received a teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She married Faye H. Honn on June 21, 1932 in Marion, Iowa. He died April 9, 1988. Besides being a homemaker, Iowa was a substitute teacher in the Amana and Oxford area. She also assisted her husband on the farm. The couple also owned and operated the Silver Inn in the Oxford area for 5 years. In earlier years, she was a member of the Chat and Patch Club and the Women’s Missionary Club. Iowa was a member of the Anchored in Faith Gospel Church in Oxford
