Doris Danskin, age 91, died Monday, August 27, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, following a brief illness. Funeral Services: 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 30, 2007, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, Iowa with Pastor Paul Moore officiating. Burial will be in the North Sumner Township Cemetery, Ladora, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Memorials may be contributed to the Oaklawn Church of God or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Doris is survived by a son, Merle and wife Sandy of Monument, CO; two granddaughters, Kalyn Clark and husband Andy of Colorado Springs, CO and Mindy also of Colorado Springs; three great grandchildren, Noah, Samantha, and Natalie Clark; two sisters, Lois Hamann of Keystone and Marilyn Miller and husband Herbert of Marengo, and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Louise, an infant of two days on July 15, 1941 and Linda Kay 11 1/2 years on May 24, 1954, her husband, Frank on August 21, 2003, her parents, 6 brothers, Cecil and Merle Cronbaugh and four in infancy; and three sisters, Norma Slaymaker, Evelyn Schmidt and Esther Fitzgibbon.

Doris Cronbaugh was born June 22, 1916 to Clifford Cleveland and Margery Minette Hay Cronbaugh, in rural Honey Creek Township, Iowa County, Iowa. She attended school at Honey Creek No. 10 and graduated from Marengo High School in 1934. She taught at Sumner No. 1 School for four years. Doris married Frank G. Danskin on June 22, 1938. They lived on a farm in Sumner Township until 1998, when Frank became a resident of Rose Haven Nursing Home and Doris moved into a home on LaFayette, Avenue, Marengo. Doris was a long time faithful member of Oaklawn Church of God. She taught various levels of Sunday School classes for 55 years.
