Karen Sue Martinson, age 63 of Marengo, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following complications from a stroke. Funeral services: 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 7, 2007, Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy with Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Burial will be in First Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Conroy. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday, April 6, 2007 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; three sons, Dave of West Branch, Dan and wife Kim of Williamsburg, and Martin also of Williamsburg; a daughter, Denise of Homestead; six grandchildren, Drew and Kasey Martinson of Williamsburg, Kaitlin Martinson of Fort Worth TX, Lacey Martinson of Wellman and Aundrea and Dalton Martinson of Williamsburg. In addition she is survived by a sister, Linda Clemons and husband Robert of Kettering, OH. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, T.J. Martinson in infancy.

Karen Sue Wilson was born April 17, 1943 in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of George B. and Vivian Overturf Wilson. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1961. She married Donald Martinson on January 25, 1962 at her parents home in Elberon, Iowa Karen had been employed as a floral designer at Rosa’s in Marengo, House of Flowers in Williamsburg and Flowerama at Westdale Mall in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed working with animals, raising orphan deer, skunks, etc. and taught obedience classes for dogs. She worked the food booth at the fair for over 25 years. Karen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy.
