John M. Flanagan

John M. Flanagan was born in County Galway, Ireland, Sep. 27, 1837, and died in Denver, Colo., on Feb. 25, 1911. He came to America at the age of sixteen, settling first in Davenport and then on a farm in Pilot township. Afterward he was in business in Marengo for a number of years, moving from here to Lohrville, Iowa. From there he was forced by declining health to move to Denver a few years ago.

The body arrived in Marengo on Feb. 27, and was taken to the home of Mrs. Moynihan. Services were held there and at St. Patrick's church Wednesday. Interment was in Calvary cemetery.
