Vickie Lynn Montague was born May 25, 1955 in Sigourney, Iowa, daughter of Hubert and Anna Mae Kephart Smith. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1973.She lived in Sigourney, Williamsburg and currently Amana. Vickie was united in marriage to Steve Montague on April 18, 2003 in Williamsburg, Iowa. Vickie enjoyed gardening, reading, and cross stitch. Vickie died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 51 years, 2 months and 2 days. She is survived by her husband Steve of Amana; a son Brian Shifflett of Sigourney; a step-son Brown and wife Valerie Montague of Cedar Rapids; a step-daughter Leigh Montague and special friend Jeremy Ranck of Coralville; a grandson Alec Shifflett; a step-grand-daughter Shelby Montague: 2 sisters: Barb and husband Terry Fritchen and Kathie and husband Ray Hammes all of Sigourney:3 brothers: Eric Smith of Cedar Rapids, Nick and wife Kelly Smith of Sigourney, and Doug Smith of Toledo.

A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
