Funeral Services for Holstein Resident Wednesday Afternoon at Home
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Peter Herman Lemburg, 62, who passed away suddenly Sunday morning after returning to his country home from Holstein. He was born in Friedrichskoog, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, on November 4, 1878, the son of Hans Jochim Lemburg and Antje, nee Thedens. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Came to America
At the age of 16, he came to America with a relative and settled in Omaha. He worked for one year near Grand Island, Nebr. In 1896 he came to Holstein, working in the locality. On November 4, 1903, he was united in marriage to Augusta Thede at Blair, Nebr. To this union five children were born. One son, Herbert, of Caldwell, Idaho, preceded him in death in 1938. Mr. and Mrs. Lemburg farmed for three years near Arlington, Nebr., after which they moved to a farm north of Holstein, residing there until the time of his death. Besides his widow he is survived by his children, Mrs. Edna Raabe of Denison; Mrs. Martha Nielsen, Battle Creek; Mrs. Irene Kastner and Roy of Holstein. Also five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Tina Friedrichsen of Huron, South Dakota, besides three sisters and two brothers in Germany.
