Albert Urban
(November 4, 1883 – December 28, 1947)

Albert Urban, son of William and Amelia Kraft Urban, was born at Sabula, Iowa, November 4, 1883 and passed away at his home in Ida Grove, Saturday, December 28 at 5:05 p.m. He had reached the age of 63 years, one month and 14 days. As a youth he moved with his parents to Clinton and resided there three years. In 1895 the family moved to Ida Grove which has since been his home. He was married to Miss Etta Cope, February 26, 1907. They started farming that spring and continued until November 11, 1944, he retired on account of ill health. Three children were born to them, Clyde of Holstein, Walter and Dorothy, both of Ida Grove. Mr. Urban was stricken with a severe illness on Christmas day and passed away three days later. Everything possible was done for his comfort by loved ones, but to no avail. His family was all at his bedside when he died. He was a quiet, home loving man, a wonderful husband, father and friend. His memory will be cherished by all. Surviving are his widow, two sons, one daughter, a granddaughter, Marjorie, two grandsons, James and Wendell, one sister, Mrs. Louise Petersen of Salem, Ore., and a brother, Paul Urban, of Sioux City. Funeral services were held at Moore and Christensen Funeral Home Tuesday December 31 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Thos. B. Collins officiating. Mrs. E. A. Swanke and Mrs. Grove Moore sang “Face to Face” accompanied by Mrs. R. J. McNeily. Interment was in the Ida Grove Cemetery.
