Cushing – Funeral services for Mrs. Elsie Joy Roche of Council Bluffs oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Joy of Cushing, were conducted at St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Anthon, on July 26. Burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery. Mrs. Roche was born at Logan on February 15, 1899, and died in a Council Bluffs hospital on July 23, 1946. She was married to Vincent Roche on March 29, 1921. Four children were born to them. The family had lived at Council Bluffs since 1930. Her husband died on June 11, 1945. Besides her parents Mrs. Roche is survived by her children, Mrs. Margaret Ricketts, and James and Patricia Roche of Council Bluffs, and Vincent Roche in the U.S. Navy, one grandson; and seven brothers and sisters, Lee and Loren Joy, Mrs. Lola Fitch and Mrs. Vinnie Foster of Correctionville, Ford Joy of Pierson, Mrs. Mary Wonder of Cushing, and Mrs. Wilma Krantz of Neola.
