(October 24, 1881 – July 24, 1946)

Obituary
Cushing – Fred H. Peitcher who had been a resident of Ida County and the Cushing community for 45 years, passed away at the Cushing hospital on July 24 after a lingering illness. Mr. Peitcher was born in Scott County, Iowa, on October 24, 1881, and at the time of his death had reached the age of 64 years and nine months. In May, 1902, he was married to Maggie Kuhrts who, with their daughter Grace, survives his passing. Also surviving are three brothers, Edd, Lewis and Ernest, and two sisters, Emma and Sophia. Funeral services with Rev. S. D. Huff of Sioux City, officiating were held at the Wilson-Hull funeral home in Correctionville Friday afternoon, July 26. Joyce Hansen, with Mrs. L. M. Wallace as accompanist, sang appropriate hymns. Mrs. E. H. Ohme, Mrs. F. W. Baumann and C. H. Baldwin were in charge of the flowers. The pallbearers were Roy Nippert, John Keehl, Herman Wallace, Giles Stoneking, Lowal Spaulding and Max Stoltenberg. Burial was in Memorial Park at Sioux City.
